Biography
Evy Varsamopoulou is Associate Professor in Romanticism and Comparative Literature at the University of Cyprus. Her research includes articles and book chapters on contemporary Anglophone and European fiction, comparative Romanticism, ecocriticism, slave narratives and autobiography, women’s writing, utopian studies, film, ethics, political philosophy, and aesthetics. She has published a monograph, The Poetics of the Künstlerinroman and the Aesthetics of the Sublime (Ashgate 2002; Routledge, 2017), edited special issues for the journals NewComparison (‘The Artist Novel’, 2002) and The European Legacy (‘The Future University’, 2013), and a volume of essays, Romanticism and the Future: Legacy, Prophecy, Temporality (Routledge, 2023).
