Biography
Fernando Cioni is Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Florence. His research interests include Shakespeare, editing, Shakespeare appropriations and remediation, English theatre. He has co-edited with Keir Elam A Civil Conversation: Anglo-Italian Literary and Cultural Exchange in the Renaissance (2003), and with Virginia Mason Vaughan and Jacqulyne Bessel Speaking Pictures (2010). He is the author of a fully annotated edition of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with translation into Italian (2024), a stage history of Shylock (2018) and a Guide to A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2022). He is Head of the PhD Program in Comparative Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Florence.
