Prof. Rita Sakr

Biography

Rita Sakr is Associate Professor in Postcolonial and Global Literatures at Maynooth University, Co-Chair of the Maynooth University Sanctuary programme, commissioning editor for the Modern Arab and Middle Eastern Literatures section of Literary Encyclopedia, member of the Board of Literature Ireland and member of the judging panel of the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. Among her publications are the two monographs, Monumental Space in the Post-Imperial Novel: An Interdisciplinary Study and ‘Anticipating’ the 2011 Arab Uprisings: Revolutionary Literatures and Political Geographies. She is completing a new monograph titled Arab Displacements: Experimental Literature, Necropolitics and Decolonial Hauntology for Edinburgh University Press.
