Biography

Stella Borg Barthet is Professor in the Department of English at the University of Malta. She teaches courses in postcolonial literature and theory, in 18th and 19th century English and American fiction, and in literature connected to the Mediterranean region. She is the author of papers and book chapters, mostly on Australian and African fiction. Her current research interests include postcolonial, African American, Anglo-Arab and Migrant literature. She mediates the Department’s membership in international associations and she is the Academic Coordinator for visiting lecturers and students.

She obtained ERASMUS+ funding in 2012 and 2016 to manage programmes focused on Mediterranean Literature. She is currently managing (with Dr Marija Grech) this programme on (Re-)Visiting the Mediterranean: Literature, Culture, Environment.
